Alice in Wonderland

It's not often you come across a wedding with a theme that is so far from cliché. However, with a couple like Kristin & Jon, nothing was impossible. The photographs from S&S Photography showed the bride and groom's personality flawlessly & each photograph let their personality shine through. The roof terrace of the Grand Bohemian Hotel was the perfect stage for their ceremony & the ballroom of the Grand Bohemian for the reception. The theme? Alice in Wonderland. The theme was not only charming, but executed perfectly & with the right amount of subltelty. Helen & Lizzie found it hard not to fall in love with this entire wedding.

A note from Helen:
Kristin and Jon were a wonderful couple to work with and we enjoyed every minute of helping them to plan their special day.  Kristin’s favorite story is Alice in Wonderland and together we managed to create an event that had whimsical touches of the story throughout the wedding like the “eat me” sign by the cake and the hedge style centerpieces with the red & white roses and the Playing Card favors but it was still a wedding that was elegant and glamorous in the stunning setting of the Grand Bohemian.  It truly was such a fun wedding for the guests and the vendors too!
A note from Kristen:
I don't know what I would have done if I didn't have Helen and her team! It was by far the most perfect wedding I could have possibly planned or been a part of. My dream wedding to be exact. And I have to say, that most of that was due to Elegant Weddings of Orlando. Having no idea of Orlando wedding vendors and no idea where to start to look for them, it was so helpful that Helen and her team knew of the best people in Orlando to complete the puzzles of my wedding. She was on top of everything, especially the day of the wedding. All I had to do was sit back and enjoy. Everything just fell into place and turned out to be absolutely magical! I can't thank Elegant Weddings enough for their generous time and effort they put into my wedding, it was above and beyond anything I ever hoped!

Bridezilla??

Want to be stress free on your special day??

Here are some tips to keep the inner Bridezilla from showing up the day of the ceremony!

1) If you’re doing this all alone- confirm those vendors! With confirmations done a week ahead of time, or even two days, you know everyone knows the right times & you don’t have to be worried about vendors arriving late or showing up without the right tools for your wedding :)

2) Do not, I repeat- Do NOT rush the process of getting ready! Make sure you allow yourself enough time to get the star treatment you’ve been deserving of for so long. Rushing will increase your nerves 100% & there is absolutely nothing to be nervous about!

3) Go with the flow- not everything can & will be correct, but when it all comes down to it, none of that is what really matters. If the napkins aren’t set out on the tables, it isn’t the end of the world! :) Focus on having fun & enjoying your day with your new groom! When you’re calm, everything is perfect at the end of the day.

4) No one has arrived at that wedding with any intentions of judging or criticizing! Everyone who arrives is a part of family, friends & loved ones & they are there to enjoy your special day with you.

5) Eat! Self explanatory. We all know what not eating or drinking anything can do to your body regularly, but add the nerves and you have the perfect combination to create a whirlwind of a day that you did not expect.

6) Don’t let something like your new heels ruin your day. Break them in! Make sure they aren’t giving you blisters the day of!

7) It’s about you (and your groom ;) ) & no one else. You do not need to please every single guest there, but the guests are important. When it comes down to the day-of, it’s YOUR day. It’s that simple. So don’t worry about what everyone else thinks & wants :) All that matters is what you (& your groom) are thinking & wanting.

8) Take a deep breath. If you start to feel overwhelmed, step outside, take a deep breath & remain calm & alone for a few minutes. Enough time to clear your head. Don’t let the stress mount up & allow the raging bridezilla to come out!

9) Have an emergency kit! If your planner doesn’t have one, have a few things handy (just in case). These things include (& are not limited to) safety pins, Clorox pen, bobby pins, Kleenex & Band-Aids.

10) If you have hired a team of professionals to help you through day- trust them! They know what they’re doing & if you let them do their job, you will have nothing to worry about & the day will go by smoothly & peacefully!

When in doubt, always remember to keep calm & never let anything get the best of you. When you're happy, it shows. You shine & all of your guests will enjoy the day that much more!
